Miss You Tonight

Standing here by my window
Gazing into the dark of the night
Appraising the warm breezy weather
of the moon-lit sky
The calm of this night
A symbolism of my insides

I revel at the beautifully patterned galaxies
Of the shiny twinkling stars
A smile touches my face
As thoughts of You
Flood my being
Lifting a rare glow inside

I wonder if across the miles
Are you thinking about me
If somehow you had noticed
The rare splendidness of this night
Like so many we had shared
Out in park
Does the thoughts of days we spent together
Nights ravishing each other
Cross your mind?

I wince, at the sudden gripping spasm
A cold clasp on my heart
A longing so profound
of one so far by distance
yet so near to my heart

But despite the hollowness
Feelings brought forth by this loneliness
Tonight I resolve
Not to wallow in the misery of wishes
But to bask at the altar of our memories
That we so carefully crafted
Still freshly imprinted in my mind
I dry my moist eyes
Tack myself under the covers
I let drift into the land of dreams
Where for now,
You and I can touch again!
