Missing Home

I miss the serene tropical skies
usually marked by its unruffled repose
I miss the whispering breeze
that stirs the african nights
I miss the rustle of the village stream
that adds a music to the lone afternoons
I miss the creak of the old Mugumo tree
by my folks abodes
I miss the whistling of the trees leaves
On a hot windy day
I miss being risen by dawn
by the light airy music of the morning birds
I miss the tingle of the misty droplets
as we dance under the rainy skies
I miss the trumpheting of the roam elephants
when they came visiting
All a tinder for memory's spark
